2016 Giant Talon 27.5 4

Giant's Talon 27.5 4 is like Goldilocks: not too big, not too small. The 27.5-inch wheels provide the acceleration, responsiveness, and lightweight feel of 26-inch wheels, with the traction and efficiency of a 29er. It all starts with Giant's ALUXX aluminum frame that's tough, yet light and quick, just what you need for singletrack. Then you get a SunTour fork with 100mm of suspension through the rough stuff. For the shifting, a Shimano 24-speed drivetrain tackles the hills, and Tektro hydraulic disc brakes provide great speed control on the way down. And up or down, 27.5-inch Giant wheels and knobby Maxxis tires grip with authority and roll over anything in your way.

    Comments:

Great for trail riding and occasional jumps. Forks come loose sometimes. Might want to upgrade some of the parts, but then if you do that it would be cheaper to by a more expensive bike than upgrade this one. 1500. or so

      Comments:

Great bike to get you on the trails without requiring upgrades. Extremely happy with the 2015 Talon, it's worth the extra couple $$ compared to the 2014. I was looking for an entry level price with the most amount of features. I did a TON of searching and you can't find any better bike for the price. I have put this bike through the tests on single tracks, steep inclines, dirt jumps and it holds up great. The bike is a little heavy but you can't have it all without dropping $1,500+.

          Comments:

I ride pretty hard(5'10" 240lbs all muscle), and this bike just could not handle what I had to dish out. The crank started falling apart after 2 weeks. I wish it didn't fall apart because I loved riding this bike. Great engineering with poor componets. Bicycle world was awesome though and took back the Talon and got me into a Jamis nemesis sport. Now to put this one through the test. I don't know if I'll ever trust Giant again.
