Great Deal for the price

Bought this 3 weeks ago, I found to it be nice and lightweight and easy to install for a petite 30 yrd old woman. I have a 2'' hitch and don't notice too much wobbling. I found when you put the bike on in the reverse, it fits fine and the lower strap under the arms secures the front tire just fine and prevents movement. I have a Rav4, so my back door opens from the side, the door doesnt clear the rack when it is lowered but opens wide enough to access what I need.

Comments:

Great for pick-ups as the rack folds down which enables the back gate to open. Very sturdy. Would suggest that red reflectors be added to the rack so others can see it better at night. Also, front tire stabilizers would be a great addition to keep the wheel/handlebars secure.

I am a 50+ year old woman and I can install this quite easily. Nice and light. Just wish it fit tighter in the hitch so it didn't rock side to side. Although it is pretty stable most of the time. Rocks when turning corners. Also, must be a better way to attach the 2" hitch adjuster. Piece slips into hitch and doesn't line up tp hole. I have found an easy way to make it work, but not intuitive. My husband couldn't figure it out on his own.

Review of Saris Axis Steel bicycle rack

Would help if it fit a 2 inch trailer hitch. The 1 and 1/2 inch mount plus a plastic adapter to fit it is not quite stable enough for my comfort.

New Hitch Rack

Comments:

Like the ease of use and installation, but feel the rack should include something to keep front wheels stable. Without something to prevent the front wheel from turning, the bike's handlebars closest to the vehicle turns and rubs on the liftgate.

Very Pleased with the Axis Steel

Comments:

It was not easy making a switch from Thule. Having had a Thule roof rack, I wasn't sure about trying another company's carrier. However, now that I'm using a hitch rather than roof system, my local bike shop made a recommendation for the Saris 3 Bike Axis Steel, which was beyond easy to unpack and install. Well-done Saris! My only recommendation is for buyers to also purchase an inexpensive bungee cord to secure the front wheel to the bike during transport.

Purchased to transport road bike. I like the ease of lifting rack and installating. Have not transported bike yet due to winter so unable to comment on ease of hanging bike and stability of rack to hold bike.

I'm a small, 55 yr old female. The rack is easy for me to attach to my hitch, light weight, but sturdy and easy to secure my bike! Very glad it was recommended by my cycle shop!

Axis Steel 3 Bike Rack

About Me Casual/Recreational

Comments:

I use my rack to carry 3 bikes. It seems to do the job ok I just wish it would not wobble as much. Due to the 1 1/2in hitch rail, it wobbles alot when in use. It should have an option for a 2in and not use an adapter. Also, the screws that keep the arm from moving need to be a bit sturdier. One of mine has already be striped and I only had my rack for about a month.
