The Allez Elite is my first "real" road bike after coming from a Giant FCR flat bar bike. This is a great all around bike. Response is very quick and the 105 components are excellent. It's a touch on the heavy side for me, but will do until i (inevitably) upgrade to a Tarmac. I've upgraded many of the stock components, but even so, this is a great bike out of the box. Highly recommend!

This is my first Road/Competition Bike and I am very pleased with it. It works great for triathlons, training, going to and from work, it does it all. So glad I invested in it. Only slightly bad side is, that the seat is a little uncomfortable. But it isn't horrible. For a beginner biker i'd definitely recommend this bike.

Comments:

My first road bike. Very, very happy with it. If you do not want to pay up for a carbon frame (with its more compliant ride and lighter weight)and you want Shimano 105 components then you should seriously consider the Allez Elite. I found the geometry more comfortable than with similarly equipped bikes from Cannondale, Trek and Jamis, and the handling more responsive than with the larger "comfort" bikes (e.g., Trek Synapse, Specialized Roubaix). The ride can get a bit harsh over rough pavement, but that will be true for any aluminum frame bike. Only complaint was with the break pads that came with the bike (they disintegrated on contact with the rims). Replaced the pads and now the brakes worked perfectly.

I was deciding between Specialized Allez Elite (2010), Treck 2.5 and Cannondale (carbon), and I'm glad I went with Specialized. Having previously owned an Allez Elite (2008), I was pleasantly surprised by how well the geometry was adjusted from the previous models. The bike is equipped with a nice saddle - comfortable enough for long rides, Mavic wheels with Specialized tires/tubes, carbon-wrapped seatpost, and a full Shimano 105 groupo. The bike is lightweight, considering its aluminum frame, and handles like a charm. It looks great too, and I've gotten a lot of compliments towards my bike. The only Con i see is that the brakes could've been better. My wheels kept squeeking and making a lowd noise whenever the brakes were fully engaged. I'm not sure if it's due to the Mavics having a 'special thread' for braking, or my stock brake-pads, but after using sand paper on the break pads it fixed the issue. I've paid [$] ant Incycles, and am completely satisfied with the purchase. Can't go wrong with the Specialized!P.S. The resale value of Specialized is also quite high when compared to Giants and Felts. So if you want to upgrade in future, you won't lose as much money by selling it.

So i just got into racing this year on racing crits TT s and road races. I can say this bike sure isnt slowing my down. Its a great bike for racing and casual riding its SOO comfortable and for the price your getting a great set up and a responsive bike that works and maintains well. It is a little heavy but not enough to make a huge difference.

    Comments:

I purchased This bike at plaines early in 2008,I now have over 3000 miles on it, I have had not one problem with the bike, it's responsive and relatively light for the price. the shifting was kinda sluggish and the position was too upright, kinda like riding a mach1 jazzy. have since replaced the stock stem for a more aggressive one, and switched out the tiagra shifters for ultegras. after these few upgrades the bike seems to shift Quicker and be more race oriented. The frame is stiff and can climb and sprint quickly. the steering isn't as responsive as a high end bike. looking into getting another bike strictly for racing, but this is the best bike for my training purposes. I would recommend it for anyone who wants an entry level bike without burning their wallet.

I absolutely love this bike. I tend to spend more time on the trails on my MTB but this bike is great for my off days when I just want to get out an log miles. I've done 6o miles on it, but was starting to feel fatigued when I was done. I had to get new tires and wheels that could stand my size (180#). Best bike you can buy for the money!

        Comments:

This bike is designed for a someone that wants a fast entry level bike. It has very similar geometry to the Specilized Tarmac series. However, for larger or older riders I would recommend the Sequia Elite. I purchased this bike and rode it for 3 months before I decide to upgrade to a Roubaix Expert. I wanted a larger more comfortable bike with a higher head tube. I am 6'2 and need a bike that focused more on comfort than speed. The Allez riding poistion is too agrresive for me as I ride long charity rides. The roubaix is just and fast but is alot more comfortable for larger riders. However, be prepared to spend twice to three times as much to get a similarly equippend roubaix.

Great Bike to start off on (although I started off on a used Specialized Allez double). Very nice to ride. I've had it for almost a year now, no complaints whatsoever. The only reason I took off one star is because it obviously is not the ultimate bike (such a low price tag). But, I do honestly think that this bike delivers on everything it promises.

Bike is awesome for such a reasonble price tag. Great for the entry level cyclist. First ride, I just couldn't believe the speed being produced with minimal effort. Talk about climbing, absolutely no problems. CONS: The god blessed saddle is a little uncomfortable even with a good pair of biking shorts. Also at the start of riding the Allez, I was frustrated having to bring the bike in a few times to adjust the rear derailleur before it finally settled in; A total pain in the ass when climbing. All in all, the Allez is a great ride. You will not be disappointed. Hats Off "Specialized".
